If you need to apply this alternate keymapping to many sessions or all sessions (Default Session), see the appropriate tip. (Note that the "cat -v" example described there is only relevant when connected to Linux/Unix remotes.) To discover the escape sequence a particular key sends, see the information provided in SecureCRT's help file in the topic Configuring the Keyboard / Determine Escape Sequence Key Codes. For example the following would assign Win + H to the Home key and Win + E to the End key. The attachment shows how you can map the Home/End keys in SecureCRT for the modern behavior if your usage requires it. Your best shot, in lieu of finding out if your keyboard has a proper key combo for this, is probably to use a program such as AutoHotkey to assign a key combination as a hotkey for the Home and End keys. Therefore the SecureCRT product director made the decision to revertīack to the historical keymaps for Home/End. However, this default keymapping caused problems for a significant number of users who provided feedback. SecureCRT 7.2 beta 1 through v7.2.1 (official) introduced modern (rxvt) Home/End default keymappings for the Xterm emulation. The same is true for versions prior to SecureCRT 7.2 beta 1. ![]() Version 7.2.2 and newer have historical Home/End keymappings by default.
